Background Agenda Who Should Attend Why Attend

World consumption growth of the non-ferrous metal markets was attributed to the considerable expansions in Asian demand, especially China and India, induced by the industrial growth in these areas. China is forging more and more deals with the world's major nonferrous metals players. Opportunities are abound for foreign investors as well as for those already operating in the Market.

Although the nonferrous metals industry has been showing good returns lately, many challenges remain, such as sustainable value creation, the need to consolidate, uncertain consumption scenarios, mineral resources shortage, substitution threats from competing materials, environment and climate change as well as growing international trade and fair competition issues. How can these challenges be properly addressed and where are there opportunities for investment and cooperation? Given the current situation in the nonferrous metals market within Asia and in a worldwide context, what are the smartest moves for sustainable growth and long term profit?

2008 will welcome the opening of the Asia Nonferrous Metals Executive Summit, expectedly a grand gathering for senior executives of the nonferrous metals industry in Asia and elsewhere around the world. ANMES2008, led by nonferrous metal heavyweights from each geographical sub-region, will provide a platform for intellectual discourse in order to answer these questions and to discuss other pressing issues regarding the nonferrous metals industry in Asia in particular, and the world in general. Opportunities and challenges within the whole vertical chain, from mining & exploration, processing & recycling down to trading & marketing, will be discussed and solutions put forward for the benefits of attendees.
